The month of June is almost upon us and what does that mean for the hat world? As our new window display shows, it’s ROYAL ASCOT!
We’re always proud to spot our hats and fascinators worn by the great, good and glamorous at this most iconic of race meetings, which this year takes place 17th – 21st June.
Royal Ascot’s dress code is the stuff of much misapprehension. As far as headwear goes, the strictest compliance is reserved for the Royal Enclosure, with ladies’ headpieces subject to a minimum 4in/10cm base rule and black or grey top hats required for gents. Less stringent conventions apply for other enclosures though headwear is encouraged throughout (see Ascot’s own website for full guidance).
Should you be planning to go, and have yet to choose your hat, do come to us as soon as possible, as it’s also wedding season and our special-occasion stock, whether fancy ladies’ headwear or top hats for the chaps, goes quickly at this time of year.
However, please bring your outfit with you as you will want to ensure the whole ensemble works together (and yes, we have changing facilities if required).
We want to help you look amazing for Ascot!
(Other occasions also apply… )
