Trophy Time!

We’re delighted to reveal that, for the second year running, T Snook has won our lovely little town’s Christmas Cheer Best Shop Window competition!

Last week we received a visit from the Mayor of Bridport, Cllr Dave Bolwell, who presented us with the trophy for 2023. As soon as it’s been engraved with our name (again 😁), the cup will go back in pride of place in our display window.

This is a competition decided by public vote, so a huge “thank you” to everyone who voted for us, we’re very grateful for your support. But we were in good company with the standard from all entrants sky high, so we are truly chuffed.

We waited until it had been announced in the local paper – the venerable Bridport News – before sharing the glad tidings… though we are tickled to see that several names seem to have been changed in their article, including that of the shop (“Snookes”)!

You’ll see in the photo our beloved Guvnor ‘sitting’ on the shelf next to the Mayor. As shop owner Roger Snook couldn’t be there in person, Snookette Sue (the designer of the monthly window displays, receiving the trophy, in pink) decided to put his portrait (by Liz, blue hat) in the group so that he was rightfully included in the press picture.
