Lurking in the currently red window of no.30 (the ‘ladies’ side’) you will find our latest recruit… Gordon the gargoyle.

Gordon is one of a specially-produced series of gargoyles created by students of the local senior school, the Sir John Colfox Academy, which were individually designed for local businesses in support of Bridport Charter Fair.

The fair – held this year on 29th September – celebrates the first granting of the town’s Market Charter by Henry III in 1253. Today, some 765 years later, Bridport’s historic market helps our town regularly rank amongst the best and happiest places to live in the country… and should you make your visit to Snooks on a Wednesday or (especially) a Saturday, when the street markets are held, you’ll see why!
